Ashita is a Young Professional specialising in international trade law, currently deputed with the Intenational Trade Negotiation Wing – (Multilateral) Division at the Department of Commerce, Ministry
of Commerce and Industry. She holds a Master of Laws in International Trade and Investment Law, with
a Diploma of Advanced Studies in International Law and Economics, from the World Trade Institute,
University of Bern.
Ashita has a keen interest in digital trade issues, and law and technology. Previously, she has worked as
a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham Law School, UK, where she investigated the legal
challenges arising from (advanced) data encryption technology and Artificial Intelligence-driven medical
devices. She has also worked as an independent researcher in international trade law for distinguished law professors globally.
